Fons provides two distinct ways to schedule and manage group-based instruction: Camps Workshops and Group Classes. Understanding the differences will help you choose the best option for your needs.

Camps & Workshops

Camps and Workshops are special events, either single-day or multi-day, that require full commitment upfront.

  • Billing: Clients must pay 100% upfront; workshops cannot accept package credits or subscriptions—only direct payment of the event cost.

  • Registration:

    • Clients who register are automatically enrolled in all days of the event.

  • Policies: Workshops and camps can have their own custom policies.

  • Discounts: Coupons can be created and applied.

  • Publishing Options:

    • Private: only you can see and add attendees to the class

    • Internal Only: The event is visible only to your studio’s clients.

    • Public: Anyone with the link can view and register.

Group Classes

Group classes are recurring lessons for multiple people on a set schedule, with flexible registration and payment options.

  • Billing: The studio determines what payment methods to accept. A class can be set to allow payment per session, accept package credits, or be covered by a subscription for eligible clients.

  • Registration:

    • Clients can sign up for a single session at any point within the series. (ie: drop-in)

    • Clients cannot self-register for the entire series, but they can register for as many classes within the series as they want.

    • If they want to be added to every session, they can contact the teacher or studio admin to be enrolled on a recurring basis.

  • Policies: Group classes use the Studio and cancellation policies set at the organization level

    • (Settings>Policies)

  • Publishing Options:

    • Private: only you can see and add attendees to the class

    • Internal Only: The class is visible only to your studio’s clients.

    • Public: Anyone with the link can view and register.

By selecting the right format, you can streamline scheduling and ensure a smooth experience for your studio and clients.
