  • How to Import Clients to Fons

Importing your clients to Fons is a quick and easy process. Follow the steps below to get started.

Step 1: Log in to Fons

To begin, log in to Fons using your account credentials.

Step 2: Go to the Clients tab

Once you are logged in, navigate to the Clients tab. From there, select "Import" from the "Actions" drop down menu.

Step 3: Click the "Upload" button

Next, click the "Upload" button to begin the import process.

    Step 4: Select the Format

Choose the format that works best for your client list. If you are unsure, you can download a template that is compatible with Fons.

    Custom Format

If your client list is not a direct export from MMS, choose the "Custom" option. You will then need to map the columns in your file to the headers/fields in Fons.

    My Music Staff Format

If you are importing an exported MMS client list, choose the "My Music Staff" option. The columns will be mapped for you automatically.

Step 5: Choose your CSV file

Click the "Choose file" button and navigate to the CSV file on your computer that you want to import. If you are unsure, you can download a template that is compatible with Fons.

Step 6: Set your default Time Zone

If you have a column for time zones in your spreadsheet, this will be overridden. Otherwise, set your default time zone for all clients.

    Step 7: Map your Columns

If you chose the Custom format, you will need to map the columns in your file to the headers/fields in Fons. If you chose to import from My Music Staff, you can skip this step and move on to Step 9.

    View Mapping Columns

    Step 8: Import Clients

Once you have finished mapping your columns, click the "IMPORT CLIENTS" button. Your clients will then show up in the staging area where you can make any necessary edits.

    Editing Clients

To make edits to a client, click on their name in the staging area. Any alerts or required information will be displayed for you to review and make changes as needed.

    Step 9: Finalize the Import

Once you are satisfied with the data in your client list, click the "IMPORT" button in the top right corner of the screen. If you need to make changes to your file and re-upload the list, you can use the "DELETE ALL" button.

After you have imported your clients, you will need to set up billing for each student who will be taking lessons.
