Using Fons to Automatically Convert Currency

If you are serving clients in countries outside of your own, you have no need to worry about how to get paid; Fons handles all of the currency conversion for you. For example, if your primary deposit account is located in the United States, but you charge someone in the United Kingdom for $125 USD, you will receive that amount exactly, minus the applicable fees.

The customer’s end, however, will see the balance converted to the local currency. In the example above, they will be charged the pounds equivalent of $125.

Note: For transactions in foreign countries that are different from the country in which your primary deposit account is located, Stripe charges an additional 1% of the transaction amount.
