For Clients
Providers choose whether or not they will be using Fons to bill each of their clients. While we highly recommend using our secure system to automate payments, we understand that clients may want to pay in different ways.
If you prefer to pay in cash please talk to the provider you schedule appointments with so that they can set this up for you.
As always, any further questions please let us know!
For Providers
The short answer is, yes you can bill outside of the Fons system. You can do this by setting a client's rate to $0 inside of Fons, and when you send them an appointment invitation you can simply add a message to it requesting payment through their preferred method.
If you’re unsure how to respond to a hesitant client, feel free to use the following script in an email or in-person:
*I really appreciate your high priority on privacy. I also value your privacy and security. I’ve chosen to use Fons for billing and scheduling because your personal information is secure with Fons’ payment processor. Their payment processor is PCI compliant and is trusted by other professional merchants like Target, Facebook, Best Buy, Lyft, NPR, Kickstarter, Girl Scouts of America, Etsy, Pinterest, Warby Parker, Unicef, and more. *
*My clients are required to enter their payment information upon accepting the invite to join Fons. At the end of their appointments, Fons charges my clients and upon payment the client automatically get a receipt. *
Please feel free to have your clients reach out to us at any time if they have any questions. We are always excited to talk about all the ways we’ve made Fons secure for you and your clients.
